Celebrating 90 Years of Leigh Stationers’ Primary Academy

On Friday, 2nd May, Leigh Stationers’ Primary Academy marked a significant milestone in its history – the 90th anniversary of our illustrious school. Since its inception in 1935 as Eastcote County Primary School, our institution has proudly educated thousands of children and has stood as a cornerstone of our community.

To honour this momentous occasion, we hosted a celebratory day that invited reflection on the rich history of our academy. Students embraced the spirit of the 1930s by donning period attire, recalling a time when our school operated without a uniform.

A large group of children, many in historical dress, are seated on the floor in what looks like a school hall, listening to an adult woman who is standing and presenting. This could be a historical talk or assembly related to the school's history.

The day’s festivities included a special assembly where we delved into the academy’s history, rich in anecdotes and achievements. An engaging exhibition in the library offered everyone a glimpse into our past, featuring old archives and extracts from the Headteacher’s logbooks, highlighting key events in our school’s evolution.

This image shows a cake celebrating "90 Years" and the dates "1935-2025," strongly indicating an anniversary event. The emblem on the cake might be the school's crest or a local coat of arms.

Children enjoyed 1930s-style lessons that provided insights into educational practices of the time. This was followed by delightful afternoon tea parties inspired by traditional recipes of the era. At break time, students relished playing classic games such as hopscotch, marbles, and skipping, connecting to the joyous spirit of yesteryear. To mark the occasion each child received a special souvenir coin, sponsored by our parent association. Here’s to the next 90 years!

An adult man is speaking to a group of children in a classroom. A whiteboard behind him shows a schedule for "Friday 2nd May 2025" with activities like "Spelling," "Arithmetic," "Revision," "Assembly," and "Cricket." While this specific image doesn't directly show historical elements, it places the event within a school context, likely part of the overall anniversary celebrations.
This image shows an adult woman, likely a teacher or school official, pointing to a large screen displaying a coat of arms or emblem. The text visible on the screen partially reads "Leigh Stationers' Primary," suggesting this is the school's official emblem.
