Dear Parents/Carers,

We love learning at Stationers’ Primary in so many different ways, here is a selection of all the fun, events and trips that the children have taken part in this half-term.

Have a restful half-term break and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 1st June.

Mrs R England

Principal

Natural History – Year 3

Year 3 visited the Natural History Museum to explore how forces of nature can sometimes transform the physical world.

They saw a special show that showed them how volcanic eruptions can significantly alter the landscape of our planet. They also got to see some of the prehistoric exhibits which connected to their Stone Age topic. It was a brilliant day of learning.

Stationers’ Hall and Guild Hall – Year 5

Year 5 were very fortunate to be able to combine a visit to Stationer’s Hall alongside a Stain Glass career workshop, at the Guildhall. Barry Jones, one of our Governors was on hand to give a personal tour of Stationers’ Hall and show the children the stained glass panels in the hall – that include our school crest.

Deptford Creek – Year 4

The class had an exciting day being geographers at Deptford Creek completing their Geography field work – learning about rivers and the water cycle. They were definitely risk-takers as they waded in!

Oxleas Woods – Year 1

Year 1 had a wonderful time completing a Spring Time Scavenger Hunt. In their science work they looked at a range of different plants identifying different types of trees and flowers and then collected a range of fallen foliage to use in Art to recreate their own Andrew Goldsworthy inspired work.

Careers Day – Reception

On the last day of term, the reception class came to school ready for their Career’s Day and I think the world is in very safe hands. The idea was linked to their PYP topic of Health Choices, they have been following lines of enquiry, learning about people that help them.

World Book Day

World Book Day was so much fun – the Masked Reader was the highlight of the day and the children had to guess who was reading the story. Thank you to Miss Lacy for Organising this wonderous day and thank you to everyone that dressed up and took part. Can you guess who the Masked Readers are? Here are just a few…

Science Day – The Great Egg Drop

Congratulations to the Communicators, Risk-takers and Knowledgeable thinkers who took part in the Science Week Challenge.

We used lots of recycled materials to house the eggs safely or so we thought…

 Visual Arts Competition

We are so pleased with all of the amazing entries we had for the LAT Art competition, although we did not have any winners, we were awarded a special certificate for having the highest number of entries.

I look forward to seeing what happens next year.

Young Voices

The choir took part in a very special edition of the Young Voices choir at the 02. Young Voices celebrated their 30th Year and the children not only sang beautifully but represented the school perfectly, with their excellent behaviour. It really was a magical night.

Red nose day

We had so much fun dressing up on Red Nose Day. The cakes for the competition were incredible. Thank you to all the parents and carers who made donations for Red Nose day – so far and the total keeps rising, the children raised £468.50p. Here are a few on the cake creations…

pals

Thank you to PALs for organising the Someone Special event and the Easter Bunny Hunt. The children had lots of fun and the winning house for the Egg Hunt was ‘Bears’.
